Uniting Voices Lexington's world-class music training encourages singers to find their voice in the world—then enable them to make it heard. Our programs empowers students in 6th–12th grade to carve out a place for themselves on the global stage and provide them with the tools they need to turn their dreams into reality.

Our year-long after-school program offers world-class instruction, with opportunities to perform throughout the year and tour across the nation.

Through our Programs

Singers in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to:
  • Learn music from many genres and cultures - authentic to the style and language of each piece, incorporating movement as appropriate

  • More deeply understand how music is created across artistic traditions

  • Engage in dialogue about the historical and social context of music learned and its relevance today

  • Feel a sense of pride through high expectations and world-class performance opportunities

  • Build life-long friendships

250 Lex Philharmonic Highlight

Lexington Citywide Ensemble

The Lexington Citywide Ensemble gives singers from across Lexington the opportunity to bond over a shared experience. This year-long, after-school program provides culturally responsive musical instruction and leadership training to students in grades 6–12. Members of the Lexington Citywide Ensemble have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year as well as national touring opportunities.

Lexington's After-School Program

The Details

Singers in the program meets two times a week: 
 
  • Wednesdays, 6–7:30pm
  • Saturdays, 10–12pm

All rehearsals will take place at Central Christian Church (205 E Short St)

Tuition for all of our programs is offered on a sliding scale based on a singers' household income, and every singer receives some degree of subsidy due to the generosity of our donor community.

No Financial Barriers

Accessibility is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why every one of our students receives tuition on a sliding scale, with rates as low as just 50 cents per instruction hour.
