Uniting Voices Lexington is a vocal ensemble for diverse youth ages 12-18 across the city and the wider Bluegrass region. The program showcases young people as ambassadors of the community and leaders on the global stage.
Dr. Michael Preacely, acclaimed baritone and university music educator, serves as Artistic Director of Uniting Voices Lexington. As a singer he has received critical acclaim for his performances across United States and abroad, including features with New York-based Opera Noire, Butler University Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Company Philadelphia, Kentucky Opera, Cleveland Opera, and the American Spiritual Ensemble.
Dr. Preacely is an alum of the former Chicago Children's Choir, now Uniting Voices, on which Uniting Voices Lexington will be modeled.Meet Michael

For decades, thousands of Lexington and Central Kentucky youth have spent their summers at sports camps on Transylvania’s campus. Recently, a group of middle and high school students came to campus for a different summer experience – one focused on building community through music.
Uniting Voices Lexington, a new community performing arts organization, hosted its inaugural three-day workshop and performance at Transylvania’s Mitchell Fine Arts Center in June. Classes took place in the William T. Young Campus Center, and the debut performance was hosted in Carrick Theater.
